09/09 - Calling all owners: Have you done some challenging, frustrating and/or satisfying project on your Cheoy Lee? Here's the place to share your experience, photos and insights. None of these lovely boats are getting any younger, and with age comes wear and leaks, as well as modifications and improvements. I would like to expand into a reference page of projects so others can see how owners have tackled issues we may all face at some time. What have you done on your boat, and how did you do it? Tell us your tale, share your wisdom. Another owner may be considering (dreading) the same project. To get things rolling, here's last spring's keel repair. I'm aware some listings here have become outdated, so I'll be emailing each and every one of you to make sure everything is current. I would like to expand this page to include links to more photos, projects, or whatever else you feel may be of interest to fellow Cheoy Lee owners. I am constantly updating with new headliners, cushions etc. being the latest projects. Flip-Flop can handle most anything Lake Michigan can throw at her on the nose but hates taking it on the beam. Burns app. 1.25 gph at cruising speed.

Just completed retirement and am continuing a plan of restoration and improvements. We have completed new overheads throughout the boat, Reworked (cold molded) the aft deck, installed a shop in the engineroom, installed the Glendenning EEC, installed bow thruster. Presently completed an aft deck enclosure. Wish to compare notes with other owners who have upgraded these boats. She has been in the water summers and during the winter seasons undergoing a major restoration/refit/upgrade in the shop at Pendleton Yacht Yard, Inc. on the island of Islesboro, ME. When she goes in the water this April, she will be ready for extended New England cruising in preparation for heading south in probably two years.

Chartwell took me around the World in the years 1998 - 2003 and then I departed Ft. Lauderdale in December 2003 and cruised across the Pacific to Malaysia; I will stay in S.E. Asia until Feb. 2006 and then go West via Africa. Basically stock boat (built with a single Cummins 855M2); I changed main engine and generators to dry stack, added electrically operated flopper-stoppers, etc. A great boat.

When Bertil returned home in 2001 he started t renovate the boat. It is now in good shape and they love it. Me and my family use it for trips in the beautiful archipelago on the Swedish east coast, some 25,000 islands, and in the Baltic Sea. We live outside a small town called Valdemarsvik on the coast. Very unusual design and original owner unknown. She was built overseas and was powered in the states with a commercial grade mercruiser out drive and an LTI 350 Chevy. Looking for information to fill in her history. Five were known to have been built in '67-'68. This boat was shipped from Hong Kong, powered in Florida and sent new to Illinois. The model was a Corsair Sedan 28. Any relations out there, please drop me a note.
